Backing up ESX Host and the virtual machines
Friends
In the client environment right now, there 3 ESX servers (3.0.1 and 3.5 versions) and all the windows, linux VMs running.
I install client packages of 7.4.4 on all the virtual machines and i do backup on my NetWorker 7.4.4 server. What is the way of backing up the ESX server? do we have separate client package for this ?
best regards
VJ

You just install the Linux client/server/storage node package on ESX server.

If you haven't already, check out Chapter 20 'Support for VMware' in the NetWorker V7.5 Administration Guide.
For more information, see Powerlink in Home > Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Software ~ J-O ~ Documentation > NetWorker Family > White Papers for the white paper EMC NetWorker 7.5 for VMware ¿ Applied Technology.
http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/partners/emc/emc-vmware-backup-networker-datasheet.pdf is a great 2-page overview, and there are several backup-focused documents on the VMware web site.
Hope this helps.
