It looks like SQL server was not found. Could be many things so I would suggest to start tests on client side first.

Not sure about what test you did, but perhaps you forgot to use -s switch which should point towards NW server.

I ran a test from the server and said no NETWORKER server found , but if ping from the server to mi networker server he saw him also if i ping from my legato server he saw the server. In the host file of the server is configure the ip of the
networker server adn in the host file of networker server is configure the client
with all his alias.

Hi Hrvoje,

Have you checked the servers file if the client is pointing to the correct server?Windows = "networker install dir"/nsr/res/servers
UNIX - /nsr/res/servers

Maybe you can provide more information, e.g. what save command you ran?
If it is a server initated backup, provide us with the line containing nsrsqlsv.

Please also provide the Instance name, e.g. double click on SQL icon and note down the name server/instance name

Please also check in the gui, remote user/password, if it is correct

Hi,

Have you tried verifying that NetWorker can perform a file backup of this server - create a new NetWorker client for the same server which just backups up the temp directory with a browse and retention period of 1 day - no point in keeping the test longer than this.

Then create a group on the server which just contains this newly created client, associate some storage to the group and then from the command line on the server run the savegrp command with -vvv (that is v v v *no spaces) and then see what is reported.

This should at least give you conformation that the two servers are communicating within NetWorker - if this test fails then there is something stopping NetWorker data traffic between the two systems - is there a firewall involved, does the MSSQL server have SP2 installed - and have you disabled the internal software firewall that this service pack not only installs but enables. Also, there is a tech bulletin from EMC on configuring this.

Hope this helps

IKP
