To create a new client not using the wizard NW only needs the hostname to resolve.
So if there is no client software installed on the Solaris box and the client daemon (nsrexecd) is not running yet, then NW will not allow you to select the save sets via this method.
Another possibility is that the software is to old and it will not support this feature yet.
Hi tonywanjohi, to add to what bingo has mentioned, in case you have already used this client under a different backup server then clearing the nsladb might help.

In this case you should also not forget to verify the /nsr/res/servers file.
If you need to change it you must restart the NW client software to reread it.
