Console show nothing of a specific NetWorker Server

Hello!

We want to administrate our NetWorker Servers by the EMC NetWorker Management Console.

We have two sides. The first runs FSC NetWorker Server (solaris based) and the second SUN NetWorker. Both are using 7.2. The Console Server is in the FSC side. This side is running fine but the SUN NetWorker only shows his short details (Name/Save Totals/Recover Totals/Totals Since) not evan his Version. Also no group or client etc. are shown.

There is no Firewall between the Console Server and the SUN NetWorker. A Sniffer session says Portmap V2 "GETPORT Call" from the Console Server gets a "Reply" with PROGRAM_NOT_AVAILABLE .

Does anyone know what this mean?

If you are running NMC package you will need also license for what you are trying to achieve. Also, make sure that administrator user from NMC host is listed as admin on SUN host.

THX for your helpful suggestions.

On the FSC side all users have right to monitor the server. On the SUN host only explicit accounts have this.

For monitoring an administrator user is enough. To do any changes we have to list the system user and not an administrator. Because NMC package is hosted current on a windows system and NMC runs with system privileges.

Problem is solved now.
