DDS Restriction with NSR Server on Windows platform
Hi All,
I read the following posted somewhere on the internet. I recon this is referring to NetWorker 6.1. I am sure this should be fixed in NetWorker 7.3.x. Has anyone encountered this in the lastest versions? Thanks.
Here is the article:-
Be aware on the following restrictions using DDS with a NT/W2K Networker Server :
- Currently WinNT/W2K NetWorker servers (both Network and Power Edition) have a limitation: the number of storage nodes times the number of shared drives should equal 45 or less. In other words a maximum of 45 nsrmmd are allowed within a single datazone. For example, if the NetWorker server is WinNT/W2K and the library has 6 drives, the drives can only be shared between a maximum of 7 hosts (6 drives x 7 hosts = 42nsrmmds, < less than 45). Legato has successfully tested 64 nsrmmd within a single datazone controlled by a UNIX NetWorker server.
- SmartMedia and DDS cannot share the same drives.
