detection process for host reports nsrmon fails, invalid request, erno 5
Hello;
I am using networker 7.4.2 on win server 2003 + sp2.
Under device --> lib, I see STK IBM LTO2 driver and Tape0. Would like to see tape1 as well.
I am trying to scan device, configure libraries, adding driver ---- all failing with the nsrmon failed message written above. Looks like there are running nsrmd processes which is stopping any scan/configure/adding drive task request within networker on win server 2003. ----
How to resolve this? How do I stop and re-start the nsr services on win server 2003?
Also, how can I monitor any log files on windows server 2003 when using Networker to do any such tasks and capture current hapenings, any error logs or if any failed states within the running task/process?
Thanks,
Susmita

Then kill any nsr* process left and start the services again.
About monitor, you can both use the management console, there's a tab there for info and errors messages. Also, you can look at /logs/daemon.raw log file (take a look at the administrator's guide)
About your problem with the tape drive, verify if the tape is detected under Windows and if RSM is disabled.
