Directed recover NMSQL 5.2 ?
Hello everyone!
I can´t find anywhere in the documentation for NMSQL 5.2 SP2 on how to do a directed recover of a database.
Example:
The server sqlserver01.domain.com crashes. I can´t get it up and running. I have another server
called sqlserver02.domain.com. I would like to restore a critical database that used to be on
sqlserver01.domain.com to sqlserver02.domain.com. Is that possible? Have anyone done
this successfully. Or, have anyone recovered the database files to a network share etc?

PS. NetWorker server is version 8.0.2, NetWorker client is version 8.0.2 and NMSQL is version 5.2 SP2.

Hi Erik,
Yes, this is possible. Please refer to the documentation to find out how to do it.
If you have both servers registered in the same NW server, and granted the correct NW permissions, by starting the restore from the destination SQL server you should be able to perform the restore.

Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility. Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and questions can go unanswered for a long time.
You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right. Then search for and select: "NetWorker Support Forum".

So if I understand you correctly, in the example I gave I could start the restore from the sqlserver02.domain.com and restore databases backed up on sqlserver01.domain.com? Provided of course that it´s registered on the same NW server.

Hi Erik,
Yes, you should start NMSQL GUI from sqlserver02.domain.com and recover from sqlserver01.domain.com.
Also ensure that you have on both clients *@sqlserver01.domain.com and *@sqlserver02.domain.com in the remote access field in both clients' configurations.
