EBA: moving from ianywhere to Oracle

Question

We have reached the limitation of performence at our EBA 3.1 (ianyhwere) installation and plan to migrate to Oracle DB.

We want to migrate existing data collected into EBA DB but I cannot find any documentation, tools or whitepaper for that task - has anybody any ideas?

What limitation is that? I'm not sure if exporting EBA database and importing it back would work... I'm in process of migrating in very same way from EBA to DPA, but it will be few weeks until I really do it. I know there is migration tool, but I still didn't check what it really does.

Well - we have 600 clients and backup data for one year and performence is getting poor. After contacting EMC we got an answer that is would be best-practise to avoid ianywhere if you have more than 400 clients.

Ah, I was not aware of that best practice. Sad to hear that as we just went from Oracle to iAnywhere because we run NMC/DPA on VM and Oracle statement about support of Oracle under VM is not something we liked (bad bad Oracle).

DPA 5.5 provides the ability to migrate from iAnywhere to SQL Server or Oracle. This though requires to be done by EMC Professional Services. Please contact your sales person or EMC support if you wish this done.

Does the same tool helps when migrating from EBA 3.1 to DPA? Because from what I have seen such migration (using 5.0.1) seems to result with negative score at the evening if you using custom work for reports for example.

Was your migration to Oracle successful? We are looking to migrate to SQL the number of clients has grown beyond EMC recommendations for ianywhere.

We'd like to retain both configuration and history but we're being told we need to use professional services to achieve this, which seems strange.
