Hi Hemant

That error message indicate that there are large gap between backup server and client system time.

Please check the system times

Thanks

This error is common to get when there is a communication problem (example: name resolution/DNS problem), or when there is a client file index problem.

Are you able to backup from client side, check the server files as well as communication and the host file entries on both the Networker Client and on the Server.

HI Hemant,

Firstly i would be retting more retries and less time out. If the file server is busy it may take a while to repond but not that long. You could have lost the packets accross the network.

Restart the Networker service on the client and make sure you can ping from both ends.

Check firewalls internally & nslookup on the boxes to make sure dns is ok.

We faced the same problem and when changed the client time to current time and triggered the backup it completed successfully.

Thanks for the comments. We have Ntwrkr 7.5.1

@Hemant, Please check the system time on the client server. If your system time is running with older date/time of that of backup server, the save will not get initiated giving this kind of error.

Hello,

we had the same problem on one of our clients and also the system time was not correct (time was ok, date not).

NetWorker version: 7.5.4.2

ErrorMsg: save: error, Automatically cancelling save request: save is unable to start active session in 6390002 seconds

Also manual saves didn´t work.

This post resolved my problem by correcting the time. There was 12 hour difference in the backup server and client. Thanks to SangHoon Kim
