Hyper-v - Nmm 3.0.1 backup fails

I have a new build with a new hyper-v server 2012 r2 - I am trying to back it up using nmm 3.0.1 and networker  8.2.1

when I try to do a application backup I get

NSRSNAP_VSS_SAVE: An internal error occurred

NSRSNAPVSS_SAVE:NMM backup failed to complete successfully internal error

on the client I am getting

PS: (CPSImportService::GetOperationStatus) ERR: Error for operation 1

NMM .. Error during import of snapshot: PS .. Error completing snapshot import

NMM .. Registration of snapshot set failed -- PS .. Error completing snapshot import

If using NW 8.2.1, why not using NMM 8.2.1?

Need few answers before replying..

  1. Is the Hyper-V is in Cluster?
  2. What is the Snapshot Policy Selected?
  3. What method of Backup you are running? is it Image level backup or Guest level Backup?

Please let me know the answers

Can you please make the snapshot policy to Rollover and delete the existing snapshot and try once

I did that but still failing

I have just added a exchange 2010 dag in and it is failing also with a very similar error

Go to Client Properties > Apps & Modules > and list the below parameters here:

  1. Backup Command
  2. Application Information

the backup command is  nsrsnap_vss_save

and the application information is NSR_SNAP_TYPE=vss

HRVOJE

I don't think the is a modual NMM 8.2.1

I had similar problems. There is new build which solved some of my problems:

3.0.1.2_369, ask EMC support

Check also errors in the windows event logs.

You need to use NMM 8.2.1 together with NW client 8.2.1

 

Please upgrade NMM version and let us know the results.

Thanks everyone

NMM 8.2.1 fixed everything Hyper-v and Exchange backing up now - I am a bit of an idiot concentrating on nmm 3.0.1
