Networker 9 Clone Performance
Dear all,
I have a situation and I would like to ask for comments and some experience, if you have any,
I have two DD devices - one in each site. They are set up as VTLs (no 10G yet for our ethernet)
I have a NW server running on a VM, which is replicated with VMware and SRM and Storage-Based replication.
I have two Storage Nodes - one in each site.
I want to transfer my backups to the secondary site, in a manner that Networker Server can access the backup data in case of Disaster, once it is failed over to the secondary site.
This is why I am using Clone, rather than DD native replication.
The problem - cloning is very slow - I can see write rates at around 30-40 MBps, which is times slower than the backup on the production environment. Of course, this means that the cloning process will never catch up on the Backup process.
I am doing the cloning from the secondary Storage Node, which has Drives connected from both DDs over the SAN.
Has anyone encountered any performance issues with Clone?
Any advise will be highly appreciated, I am already out of ideas.
Thanks!
