Hello,
Im new with EMC Legato Networker it seems that we're having a problem un backing up the backup server itself.
The following are the data that we've gathered to be able to point out what is causing the problem.
Server Name: aap4bck1
Group: "Windows Testers" that runs daily at 8am.
Defined save set: NMCASA:/gst_on_aap4bck1/lgto_gst
Networker Management Console 7.6.1
Library: HP MSL G3 Series
Whenever the backup run, the aap4bck1 client always fails with the following messages. All other part of this group was backed up successfully except for this one. I cant remember if this was only recently encountered because the administrator before already left.

Hi Kate,
This is typical issue with pool being misconfigured. For example, pool is limited to devices on remote storage node, BUT bootstrap can only be saved on backup server and not remote storage node. To address that, you could do several things:
- change pool restrictions
- check no index save on group properties (make sure you understand what implications are there or simply what it does)
- apply no index save to all groups and have separated index groups running at the time when you want bootstrap to be saved

Thank you for the response.
I suppose to contact EMC support to ask for configuration help.
Or if you can elaborate and teach me more on how to do this, it would be great help. thanks.

Hi,
You can find instruction that will help you with this here:
Troubleshooting Media Waiting Events - waiting for 1 writable volume or no matching devices
Point number 3 refers directly to the issue at hand.
