Okay, I need some clarification, I am doing an on-site installation of NetWorker.
Neo Jukebox has one LTO3 drive. Robotics is connected to a fiber bridge which is connected directly to NetWorker server's FC card. But the tape drive has built in fiber channel port and it is connected directly to the AUX port of the Celerra, and configured as a NDMP tape drive. There is no SAN switch in the environment. There is also no SCSI cable attached to the tape drive, only fiber.
Can this setup work?
I've configured the jukebox. I've set the path to the drive one to be celerranas:C32B1L1 (celerra and tape drive, this is correct) and confirmed it as an NDMP drive. What bothers me is how can NetWorker, for example, label the tape if it does not have direct access to the tape. Also, how can NetWorker save the bootstrap to the tape, or how can modules be used. This setup doesn't make too much sense to me, but this is the way it is.

What you describe is a valid configuration for NDMP backup only. The NetWorker server controls the robot where as the Celerra transfers data directly to the tape device. However, as you comment, there is no means in this configuration for the backup of client index or bootstrap data from the Networker server.
A better approach would be to have the tape device san switch attached to both the Celerra and the Networker server although this would then require additional NetWorker Dynamic Device Sharing (DDS) licenses - one per tape device. Then you can use the same device (different media pools) for the NDMP data and for the housekeeping operations such as Networker server /index /bootstrap backups.
Yes, that is the same thing I presumed. But I need to find the cheapest solution here. I've created a file device on the server, so that Default pool can write it's data somewhere.
The cheapest idea I see here is to scrap the NDMP tape idea and connect the tape to the server along with the robotics (only one SCSI cable required) and backup Celerra as a NDMP client to a local NetWorker server's tape (I suppose this is possible). Maybe the backup performance would be lower, but it would make more sense. Another option would be to add another LTO3 drive to the jukebox, but I do not know the cost on this one.
It's just that buying a SAN switch and another license seems to expensive here...
What about iSCSI options? Can Celerra present the tape drive as iSCSI device? Would the server be able to see the tape this way. Would DDS still be required for such a setup?
Well, I´ve made the backup and recover work. I've created a CIFS server on the server_2 data mover. Also, I have one file device labeled for the same pool as the tapes in the jukebox, so the index is saved there.
