NetWorker Cluster Client Connection in 7.4.2
Hi,
The problem is NetWorker license is using the NetWorker Cluster Client Connection for client in cluster.
One customer did the upgrade to NetWorker 7.4.2, We think networker is using license of client connection only but i can see with the nsrlic command that is using cluster client.
We tried to solve it, we did the procedures we found in the powerlink like to delete the physical and virtual client, and create them again; but it is ok until we did the failover, the networker ask us another cluster client.
The questions are:
- Does the next text apply only to new installation of networker 7.4.2
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In Networker 7.4.2 Cluster Client Connections licenses are no longer required and have been replaced with standard Client Connections licenses.
Cluster Client connection licenses which existed on the NetWorker server prior to the upgrade will continue to be displayed in the NetWorker Management Console, but the server will use them like standard Client Connection licenses.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Does networker has a problem?
- What must i do to solve it?
The output of nsrlic command
----------------------
SERVER (UNIVERSAL) CLIENT LICENSES
Available: 47
Used: 41
Borrowed from Server: 0
Remaining: 6
Connected Clients:
...
...
...
NT CLUSTER CLIENT LICENSES
Available: 14
Used: 14
Remaining: 0
Connected Clients:
...
...
...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edgar

So my suggestion is, repeat the same procedure you did about deleting and recreating the physical and the virtual clients, and update the /etc/hosts files for all physical nodes with the virtual client and the physical clients.

Delete all the licenses applied and reapply them, this should fix your problem. For deleting the licenses you can follow the standard document available or else for your reference:
1. Stop networker services
2. sudo /usr/sbin/nsr/nsradmin -d /nsr/res/nsrdb (Path may vary depending on OS type)
3. . type: nsr license
4. delete
Note: before deleting the licenses pls note them as you will need to reapply them.
