NetWorker & DFSR
Hello all,
Every night networker backs up our Microsoft DFSR file servers. The versions of networker are 7.4.3, 7.5.3 & finally 7.5.4 - I know they should all be the same - I'm working on it.
When the servers were brought online it was discovered that if DFSR is running, networker could not backup the connected SAN LUNs. So we'd only get local volumes, but not the volumes on the SAN with all the data! We learned that if we run a script to disable the DFSR service everything works fine and my backups are good. Its been like this for a while now: DFSR stops, networker starts, and DFSR starts again about 20 minutes later. But it's not ideal.
Anyone out there know of a version of networker that will allow me to let DFSR run and still get a good backup? The servers are Windows 2008 & Windows 2008 R2.
Thank you,
Phil

I know issue like this existed with 752 and 761, but I believe someone told it was patched or patch did existed. The best bet is to check this with support.

Thank you. Since our campus bought NetWorker through Sun Microsystems (now Oracle) I'm waiting to hear if we have any preferred channels I can call for support, or if I can call EMC directly. I hope to call EMC and skip the middle-man. I really appreciate this forum since it helps me get to EMC and community experts directly.
