Fact: NetWorker
Symptom: Indexes are not moving
Cause: Moving the NetWorker software to another operating system is not supported due to the fact that the media database is not stored in a portable format (XDR).

We migrated NetWorker three years ago from AIX to Linux, this was basically an installation from scratch.

I don't want to scare you off, but in our case this migration turned out to be a very big mistake. From the first to the last day running NetWorker on Linux we had stability and performance problems.

Three weeks ago I migrated NetWorker from Linux to Windows and all my Linux stability and performance problems have disappeared. I couldn't be more happier.
