networker storage_node problem

hey there people as in topic. I'm preparing test environment and came to point which i can't resolve an issue.

so i've got centos 6.7 for server, another centos for storage node and first windows client with console. I don't have any problem with communication. I was able to install everything. Declared clients, declared storage node which has jukebox connected (well to say you true VTL) but still there's no problem to see it.

The problem starts when I would like to reach tapes which are in vtl. I do always have information as on screenshot below in attachment. On the second hand when I do go to storage node :

[@emcmedialnx ~]# ddmgr

[@emcmedialnx ~]# dvdetect

14236:dvdetect: Starting dvdetect process on host 'emcmedialnx'...

7842:dvdetect: cannot connect to NSR service on emcmedialnx

42503:dvdetect: Program not registered

14238:dvdetect: Ending dvdetect process on host 'emcmedialnx' with error...

[@emcmedialnx ~]#

also gui is showing constantly Detection process for host reports dvdetect process failed on signal: errno 99. I first I thought about licenses but then again it's evaluation so got lot of those..... on top of it other than this everything is working. Please help.

Have not done that for a while but I assume you must specify the server as if it is not running on the storage node.

This would explain this message:

    >>>>  7842:dvdetect: cannot connect to NSR service on emcmedialnx

usage: dvdetect [-s nsr_server] [-h host prefix] [-x SCSI target] [-d] [-l] [-p] [-N ndmphost]

BTW - You are setting up a test environment. May I suggest that you use the latest NW 8 version (NW 8.2.2.3).

dvdetect is spawned by ddmg and from what I see they way you run it it was not instructed where the server is.

Try to use more low level commands like inquire and sjirdtag.  sjirdtag should be able to connect to your lib over control port and see if it lists content - if not, something else is wrong.

Are you using MHVTL ? IF so then check the configuration on the MHVTL and try again, As it might an issue on the VTL than on the networker or OS .
