NMC installation

Question

Can the NMC be installed on AIX 5.3? The only guides I have found all say Windows and Solaris. My NW server and storage node will be on an AIX server and I just want to try and keep everything together. Also, what data does the NMC actually store? I have a Windows 2003 server that I might be able to use if need be.

Hi , Actually i don't have idea about the AIX but NMC Store the reporting databases for the Networker Software

As per the compatibility guide, NMC 3.2.2 suports IBM AIX 5.3 server. Till 3.0 & 3.1, only Windows, Solaris & Linux servers were supported.

NMC server has its own database that stores informaiton required to generate the reports it offers. More details in admin guide.

Package for AIX exists so can be used.Data inside database is data used for reports and which is kept inside according to set retention.
