nsrsnap_vss_save: Missing parameter: No -A parameters were specified.
Hello,
I am trying to get Networker working on backing up Exchange 2010. I am using Networker Modules for Microsoft Applications 2.3 and using the Networker 7.6.2 and when I run the backup I get the following errors:
savegrp: suppressed 2 lines of verbose output
Original file name: nsrsnap_vss_save.exe
Version: 2.3.0.87
Comments: NetWorker Module for Microsoft Applications (x64)
67112:nsrsnap_vss_save:nsrsnap_vss_save: Missing parameter: No -A parameters were specified.
67740:nsrsnap_vss_save:nsrsnap_vss_save: Ensure that 'Snapshot' is selected in Group entry in NMC.
62872:nsrsnap_vss_save:nsrsnap_vss_save: snapvss_validateAparams()failed to validate one or more Application Information parameters
68151:nsrsnap_vss_save:nsrsnap_vss_save: Exiting with failure.
I have done some searching without much luck. Any ideas what it is asking for with the -A parameter?
Thank you.
Pat

Can you say what application information variable you have set and what you trying to backup in the first place? (I see the name group to be NMC, but I doubt you use NMM to backup NMC host).

Hello Pat,
Please note that all NMM backups are snapshot based hence you need to configure the group to use snapshots, and this is exactly what the error message means:
No -A parameters were specified.67740:nsrsnap_vss_save:nsrsnap_vss_save: Ensure that 'Snapshot' is selected in Group entry in NMM
Please check the box for "Snapshot group" in the group configuration, choose an already defined snapshot policy (serverless backup for example) and select the pool you want to use.
Please note that the pool that will be used will be the one defined in the group configuration, just below the snapshot policy.
Thank you.
Carlos.
