Questions about Firewalled Backups
I am new to Networker so forgive me. I am trying to configure servers for backup that are on the otherside of a firewall. The Network team has configured a rule that allows Ports 7937-7952 through. On the client I have ran the command nsrports -s 7937-7952 . But the clients wont work. That is all I have done so far. Is there a host record someplace I need to configure. I came from a strong Commvault background. To configure clients behind firewalls there was a fwports & fwpeers host files that had to be configure on both the client and commserve and media agents. Is there something similar here?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Jim

There is a guide on Powerlink which is worth you reading "Configuring TCP Networks and Network Firewalls for EMC NetWorker". First off I would check some basic connectivity like ping, name resolution (from both sides on short, FQDN and IP). Check your Networker server and client(s) can communicate on port 7937 using telnet host 7937.

Command is wrong... you used small "s" which is used for server while for server ports you should have used capital "S".

Hi,
do you have FW rule for connection ports range as well?
Cheers,
