Reconfig storage node after changing Legato servername

Hi Johan,

As mentioned in your note that you have installed networker once and uninstalled it and then again installed the package by renaming the server and storage node.

If I assume correctly you might have installed the package in the same path as it was before.

For example: Install 1: C\program files\legato\nsr

                    Install 2: C\program files\legato\nsr

Since the path used was same, there is a conflict in the package and names.

I would suggest you to perform the following tasks:

1. uninstall the Networker packages from both server and storage node

2. Rename the folders C\program files\legato in both networker server and storage node

3. Reboot both the server and storage node machines

4. Reboot your library

5. Install the Networker package in the server and the storage nodes with the desired names

6. Make sure the naming convention is done correctly

7. Check the connectivity of your Library from the storage node

8. Run "jbconfig" command to configure your library

Hi John,

I would recommend you to check the hosts file of the NetWorker Server and the storage node, seems to be a communication issue or Firewall ports.

Try to do the following from the backup server to the storage node ( using short name and FQDN name):

• check hosts-file if you can find the storage node (Shortname and FQDN)
• ping
• nslookup
• rpcinfo -p

If this all works perfectly and resolution is good, try to do the following from the client to the backup server ( using short name and FQDN name): 

• check hosts-file if you can find the backup server (Shortname and FQDN)
• check server file under the nsr directory if the backup server is added there
• ping
• nslookup
• rpcinfo -p

Did you configure the servers file and fail to reconfigure it?  When you state you re-installed the Networker software did you uninstall Networker (and delete the nsr directory) or did you just run the installation package again?
