requirements to configure DDS with ACSLS

Hi,

We cant do operation like mount, unmount, label, backup or recover. NetWorker sent the operation were succesfull but they havent been succesfull.

Actually the devices are configure in every Storage Node without Dynamic Drive Sharing and the operation is ok.

The Networker version is 7.3.2, is possible to configure DDS with ACSLS in this NetWorker version?

what value must I configure in the SSI_HOSTNAME in every storage node?

Because the problem in the ssi log has communication problem.

SSI_HOSTNAME is required for host where ssi runs - that would be your backup server only.

Of course, it is possible that you have come across of some known bug (I say known as there are few like the one related to nsrlcpd with ACSLS and DDS) - in such case you will need to talk to support and once they confirm this is your issue they give you the patch.

Yes you can do that. Actually there is not much difference if you using DDS or not. I had DDS on Solaris with ACSLS and it worked fine. Without any error message it is going to hard to say what is going on. I would suggest you do following:
- try operation and check ssi log
- on ACSLS box check event log to see if request has been passed correctly from ssi to csi module

One of those should give you a clue about what is the problem. If not try with support. They might request that you put ssi into debug mode too.

In the storage node I didnt set the variable SSI_HOSTNAME I did it only in the backup server but it wasn´t ok.

I think it was another problem, do you have another idea?

Well, I have ACSLS with server in cluster and 8 storage nodes and I use SSI_HOSTNAME only on server in startup script. As I said, it could be a bug too - logs should be submitted to support and they will know once they see it.
