dell data domain tape? you mean virtual tape through VTL emulation on the DD or rather using ddboost protocol over the lan without any tape virtual or not being involved?

If you want someone to mention anything, then show the actual whole error stack not just one single error message but containing the context of the lines before and after as well.

The versions (NW, NW NMDA module, OS) used might also give anyone an indication of what you have in place?

Is it similar to this one, where a core dump occurs? https://support.oracle.com/knowledge/Oracle%20Database%20Products/1061232_1.html I can't access the Oracle KB article myself as I have no Oracle sign-in...

The exact error code and argument on the oracle kb is listed below.

ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [strlen()+80] [SIGSEGV] [Address not mapped to object] [0x000000000] [] [] error is consistently reported when executing RMAN backup using the Networker or 3rd Party Backup Software.

The argument number is different than whats on the site.  Below is what we get.

 ORA-error stack (07445[gsignal()+55]
