That's why we need to have more information. This could be caused for a problem with the writers or could be something else.
Did you check the Application and system event logs?
Any volsnap related event?
Are you backing up only C:\ and D:\ savesets or do you have set !All" instead? because the error message come from SYSTEM FILES:\ saveset and not C:\ or D:\
Check if in the /nsr/tmp/sg... you can find more information.
And backup completed successfully for C, D, ASR,SYSTEM DB,SYSTEM STATE. it is failing for only SYSTEM FILES.
And in one server writers ar stable before backup starts and after backup completion some writers(System writer, WMI writer, BITS writer are in 'waiting for completion' state. we thought this was the issue and we had proceeded to fix this.
But in some other servers all are fine including writers but still system files backup failure happening.
We have rebooted and upgraded the version. still issue persists.please advice how to proceed.

Hello Navanee,
We would need some more information to get to the root cause of the issue and provide you with some solutions:
What is the OS of the client you are backing up? I guess it's Windows 2008, right?
What is the saveset you have set for the client?
Have you checked(can you share the file /nsr/tmp/sg/group_name/xxx.sso file that contains the information of the save process for that saveset?
Did you find any error in Application event viewer of the client at the time of the backup, pointing to maybe some VSS or volsnap errors?
Did you run a manual save from the client, from the command line setting some debug options to see where the failure is coming from?
Thank you.
Carlos.

Hi Crvelin,
I will Check and update. But is this happened because of VSS services or writers?

Hi Carlos,
Sorry for the late reply. thanks for your response.
server type:windows 2003-32 bit.
After upgrading networker client version to 7.6.3 we are facing this error.
In client end I couldn't find /nsr/tmp/sg/group_name/xxx.sso file.
saveset contains C:\ & D:\ drive files with VSS.
From client end backup happening fine.when it triggered from networker server or during scheduled backup it is failing.
Give proper solution. It will help us to resolve so many servers' backup.
Thanks and Regards,
Navanee

Hi Navanee,
Please try to mention the following in the client backup command and check the backups:
save -a '"ignore-all-missing-system-files=yes"'
Please reboot the machine once and make sure all the VSS writers are in stable state before starting the backups
Thank you
