Use scanner in order to scan a volume from another backup system.
Hi guys,
Would you please explain how to use scanner in order to scan a volume from another backup system.

Hi!
Do you mean:
1. Another Networker server ?
1 .Just load to the cartridge with noumount option. (Load without mount)
2. then scanner
On windows, or Unix you can get the tape device name with the following command:
inquire
2. Another backup program? (TSM,Netbackup..etc)
These programs uses different formats, which Networker cannot recognize.

Hi Bobby
I read the article, however when I tried to mount the tape inot the drive it keeps verifing the tapes and then unmount it, so when I triy to run the command it give me message the system is busy with onther operation.
The Tapes shows "not in media index"
Please help me

Don't mount the tape, you need to load. Networker doesn't know about this tape that's why the error message below.
Load with following command:
Nsrjb -lnS .
Run the scanner.

That should work,
What OS and version of Networker? You can also goto Devices in NMC goto volume and right click, select load without mount option.

I ran the commend Nsrjb -InS "is it L or I caps", any how the prompt gives me the option of the command Nsrjb
I do not have good experience with Legato, so please explain to me in more detials.
