VM fails with error "Operation would block"

The backup of a VM running Windows 2003 fails with error "Operation would block". In the daemon.log there is an entry for this server: 09/13/07 09:46:01 savegrp: command 'savefs -s ictdsta34.melkweg.tld -c cora23 -g ASD-CDSvmware -p -o VSS:*=off -l full -R -v ' for client cora23 exited with return code 1. When I restart the group the same error occurs.

This could be caused by firewall running on Windows box.

Hi Hrvoje,

The Windows Firewall/ICS service was not running. However what the administrator of that system did encounter was that he could not logon to the domain (just to the machine). He is going to remove the machine from the domain and than he will try to add it to the domain again. Hopefully this will resolve the issue. I will keep you posted.

Kind regards,

Martijn

Hrvoje,

Removing the machine from the domain and adding it again did the trick. Afterwards I was able to make a full backup. Hopefully the scheduled backup will run smoothly once again.

Kind regards,

Martijn

Strange... do you use Windows user for backup? I wonder why would this influence backup otherwise...
