What are parent/child group relation in Networker
Hello,
Could anyone clarify me on papent and child groups in Networker. I came across these terms in the final message of this https://community.emc.com/message/361491#361491 thread. I wonder if parent/child groups concept helps me to tackle the problem described here https://community.emc.com/thread/169041?tstart=0

Hi,
Personally, I prefer probe-based backups, but the solution discussed in the forum posts you refer to involves using either savepnpc or a customised backup command (a script which replaces the standard save command) to effectively run multiple groups triggered on the same schedule. Have a look at the 'Customizing the backup Command' section of the NetWorker Administration Guide and this will explain how you can customise NetWorker to run whatever you want triggered by the backup group run.
