2848 hangs at "unit standalone", managed led is blinking
Hi,
PowerConnect 2848 powers on but does not boot, hangs at UNIT STANDALONE", 192.168.2.1 does not respond. It can be a hardware issue but I would like to try reflashing via xmodem - it is a last hope, despite the fact that at start I can see "Decompressing SW from image-1 100% OK", then "operational mode - mode is managed". HW wersion is 00.00.02.
I have tried to enter Advanced Startup Menu (Shift Ctrl 6) to erase flash and download new firmware but switch ask me for password. Does anybody know what is a default password for advanced startup menu for 2848?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, thank you for help and sorry that I did not make my question clear.
There is no question for the username, only for password. Password is not blank.
2848 is connected via RS232 to minicom terminal and I am trying reflash 2848 using XMODEM as described in http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/network-switches/f/866/t/19448408 by Dell-Willy M. but the password for 34xx does not work for my 2848.
I am stuck at the step 7. Willy M wrote: "Press Ctrl + Shift + 6 at the boot menu, and then press 6 for the 34xx or 7 for the 35xx to open the Advanced Menu (If prompted for a password, use ryan for 35xx series switches). Choose the option to erase the flash sectors on the switch. This should remove all firmware from the switch."
This password does not work for my 2848. Does anybody know what is the password to open Advanced Startup Menu for 2848?
Thanks!

Hi, You are right, there is no password to get into Boot Menu, but I am asking how to open Advanced Menu (ctrl+shift+6 from Boot Menu).
I also did some research with other, fully functional 2848 (I have ~10 powerconnect switches): I did full reset, cleared config, through Dell Easy Setup Wizard I defined username: admin and password blank. Then I rebooted device, pressed Enter to get into Boot Menu, then pressed Ctrl+Shift+6 go get into Advanced Menu. Switch keeps asking me for a password. This password is not blank, while password for Admin account IS blank.

Thank you Daniel, that password worked for me, too! :)
