Cannot assign IP address for VLAN 1 (6248)

Good Day,

I have purchased two PC 6248 layer 3 switches. When I try to assign an IP address to the default VLAN 1, it shows an error "Cannot delete management VLAN -ID".  These swicthes are already preconfigured with the IP 192.168.0.1 for VLAN 1. I would like to delete this IP and assign one in the 10.10.1.x range for VLAN 1. But this is NOT possible.

Can somebody please help me to remove this preconfigured IP, so that I can assign the one in my interest?

Thanking you,

Sam

Hi,

actually it's very easy to change the ip address of vlan 1. For example:

config

ip address 10.10.1.1 255.255.255.0

exit

Do NOT use

config

interface vlan 1

ip address 10.10.1.1 255.255.255.0

Greetings,

Ralf
