Connect PowerConnect 6248 and Force10 S4810

Hi,

I have two PowerConnect 6248 Switches connected with Stacking. Now I want to connect a Force48 S4810 Switch on the same network.

Both 6248 have an SFP + module.

What is the best way to connect?

Thanks.

For the physical connections, just make sure that the transceivers are the same spec. Do you have part numbers for the transceivers you are using? Or the specs you can share with us?

Then on the configuration side, it will really depend on if you are needing multiple VLANs to traverse the one connection or just a single VLAN.

I am using this cable:

SFP-H10GB-CU3M CABO CISCO SFP+ 10GB COBRE (Twinaxial Copper Cable 10GBASE-CU SFP+ 1000BASE-x  - SFP-H10GB-CU3M)

There is no need for any specific VLANs for now. In this scenario, we only have one LAN.

I can take a picture of the Switches if you prefer.

These switches can connect to one another using passive DAC such as this one. However, sometimes cables can be a bit proprietary. I have seen some brands of cables not work with other brands of switches. If this is a flat network, then there should be no need to change the port configuration. Have you tried installing this cable yet? What behavior is observed?
