Dell S5048f 40gb

Hello

Trying to connect an s5048f port 54 to a dell n4032f via 40gbit uplink card on the n4032f, slot 2.

But the ports are still status down.

Im using a dell 40gbit qsfp cable..

If I connect the cable to port 54 and 53 on the s5048f the switch lits up but in 100g speed.

Also if i connect to slot 1 and slot 2 on n4032f it lits up in 40gig.

What can be the issue?,

The S5048F should support 40gbit..

Hello,

You might try the following command on the switch:

stack-unit 1 port 54 portmode single speed 40G
stack-unit 1 port 53 portmode single speed 40G

If those don't work, you may need to connect to a 40Gb interface, which may require a different IO module, depending on what you have.

Didnt work, unknown command on port.. I have a 40 gbit interface on the dell n4032f The only reason to loop the cables in the switch was to check if ports or cable was faulty. How to set 40gbit manual speed on s5048f?

Right, I understand that you were performing a cable test. The command I provided was run on one of our lab switches. Where did you execute this command? Were you in privileged exec mode?

Yes I think so It says DellEMC# on the prompt

I pasted the output

DellEMC#stack-unit 1 port 54 portmode single speed 40G

                                       ^

% Error: Invalid input at "^" marker. DellEMC#

Thankyou
