fiber uplink on a powerconnect 3348

Question

Is there a setting i need to change on the switch to get it to recognize the fiber uplink.  it is in 1/g1 but no link lights.  the switch in the data center is only set at 100mb and i set the port on the dell switch to that and i made no difference.  any suggestions?

I have flipped the ends and that did not work.  Is there any other settings that may need to be made to the switch configuration.

Flip the send and receive (physically change the fiber on one end so that the send and receive are flipped).

I believe that the gig fiber port can only run at that speed, i.e., 1000 mbps. What I have done when I needed a 100 mbps fiber connection is I purchased an external 100 mbps fiber to copper converter.

I have two 3348's successfully connected to a 5224 using the gig fiber adapter.
