Hi,

Are you able to access the switches via the OOB ports? Are the switches in the same chassis? You may need to reload or reseat the switches, but that would cause some downtime.

Hi,

Yes both switches are in the same M1000e chassis. I re-sit both switches and nothings happened. Now using the browser and the ip of the CMC I can get to the main GUI where I can see the blades and the switches. Switches  As & Bs view fine, the Cs are grey out.

Q:...Are you able to access the switches via the OOB ports? A:.. I didn't try to access using their OOB port, I need to do it. I guess I got too worry  when I saw the switches grey out on the CMC GUI and that I could not access the switches using the console port.

I was able to access the C switches using the OOB ports. Iwas able to change IP . Now when accessing the CMC  the switches are no longer grey out. I don't understand why they were grey out in the first place. Any way they are working now.

Somenthing that I find out about the serial port of the "C" switches is that using "putty on a windows 8.1" the serial port does not respond. It doesn't matter what putty version I use the serial port do not work. But if I use windows Vista 32 bit it works or windows 7 32 bit putty and serial port works perfectly and I can access all the serial port of the DELL switches.  I guess until I figure out what is wrong with

"windows8.1-putty serial port-8024 console port" I will not be using  windows 8 to do this type of work.

Any idea(s) why windows 8 do not want to work with putty-serial port to access the Dell 8024-k switch console port?
