N2048P Te Port Troubleshooting

We have a setup where some stacks of N2048P are connected via fiber on their Te1/0/1 ports. For whatever reason the link went down and after testing out various settings it worked again after moving one of them to a different port on the stack (3/0/2). My question is what sort of troubleshooting commands should I be using to confirm the ports themselves are operational while remote instead of or if a local tech is unavailable to physically move connections?
