Network for VPS
I need some help / guidance / ideas on what would be the best way to (re)configure my corporate office network. I'll try to get as many details as possible here so apologies in advance for the length of this post. I have a bunch of questions and just not sure what the best configuration and which features go together the best. This is not so much of an issue with PowerConnect configuration but general network switch layout design/needs.
The terminal server to the database server generates a lot of load - even though the RDP connections are relatively low bandwidth, the enterprise app does put a lot of network burden on one NIC. I've been toying with the idea of when I bring my new Pervasive DB server and my new TS server online (in process of building) connecting the TS to the DB server with a crossover cable and a /30 IP address for the TS to access the DB server and not have 60 users database access going over the same network card the RDP session is or the other 60+ users who access it over the LAN at the corporate office.
I think I WOULD have an STP issue and was having trouble predicting what path frames would take or if this made sense even to do.
