NTP Master on Dell OS10 OOB Interface

Does OS10 supports NTP Master to be configured and send NTP signals to OOB interface as well ? so that the OOB Connected devices can get the NTP from the OS10 switch.

HI,

Thanks for the reply, actually am looking to create the OOB interface as the NTP master; so other switches in the OOB Network sync their time, Please let me know if that is possible

For this it is an advanced configuration, you have to be followed by an expert in networking. Can you contact technical support for networking?

Thanks

Hi Marco,

So, this is a supported configuration from OS10 right? or do i need to check with technical support if this is a supported configuration or not ?

Hi,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to configure an OS10 switch to act as an NTP server. OS10 switches can be configured to act as NTP clients to synchronize their time with an external NTP server, but they do not have the capability to serve as an NTP server themselves.

@Anjaz

For anyone else that lands here - as that link says, only MX series switches provide an NTP server. This is not a generic OS10 capability.

Supported on the MX9116n and MX5108n switches in Full Switch mode starting in release 10.4.0E(R3S). Also supported in SmartFabric mode starting in release 10.5.0.1
