Here is the behavior pattern of the Yea Link T46S VOIP Phones when plugged into the DELL 3548P Power Connect Trunk-ed Switches on the 8th floor, the 8 floor switch is the Core and is Connected to a Sophos Firewall - Providing the Internet hand off and DHCP addressing to the LAN.
Phones and Desktop Computers - Able to get DHCP IP address from Core Switch DELL 3548 P Power Connect POE Network Switch.
However DEL Networking N2048P on the 9th floor is NOT handing DHCP Addresses to the Yealink Phones.
The workstations are able to get DHCP Address from the Core Switch
Using a Static IP address Configuration on a Test Phone on the 9 th floor, connected to the Dell 2048P Switch - The IP address used to configure the Phone ( Static IP ) was not ping able from a workstation on the same network.
When the same IP address used for the Static Phone configuration, is used for a Computer / workstation, the address is ping able, and the Workstation has access to the internet and my Active Dir Server.
