PVIDs on Dell 2748
Hi All,
I am setting on each port a PVID of 10 on all ports, Each port is set with a TAG of 10 and 999.
When the switch gets reset or power cycled to PVIDs all reset back to the default VLAN of 1.
Is this by design or am I missing a crucial step!?

the Power Connect 2748 should not lose the config on a power boot. It is probably defective.
However, you are setting the pvid to 10 and also tagging vlan 10?
here is my understanding.
the PVID is the ingress
When modifying the PVID and VLAN:
pvid 10 untagged in vlan 10 = an access port
pvid 10 tagged with another vlan and untagged in VLAN 10 remove vlan 1 = trunk port with vlan 10 as the native
pvid 1 tagged with vlan 10 = standard trunk
If you make the PVID of 10, should not tag vlan 10 there

I currently am setting the ports for 10 Data and 999 Voice. I have Taged each port with 10 T and 999 T and the default 1 U. Curently all ports are left with PVID 1 due to each reset setting the PVID back to 1 (thanks for the other thread btw!)
The aim was to have the admin vlan as 10 and have all data over that with the cisco handsets connecting and registering on 999.
I think that I would have to set each port as a standard access port of 10 for data in this screnario and set up the TAG ports adhoc for phones.
Shame you cant change the admin vlan would be superb if this was taken into account for the next config update.
