VLAN between PowerConnect 3324 and 3424

I have been trying to create a VLAN through a PowerConnect 3324 and 3424 stack using the G1 fiber port on both stacks. 
I am trying to create a wireless hotspot using the same WAP that the internal LAN users connect.  The WAP is fully VLAN capable and I have configured a seperate SSID and assigned it to the new VLAN ID(2).  I have a Cisco 2800 series router that the T-1 internet connection comes through.  On the Cisco the FE0/0 connects to a Microsoft ISA proxy server.  Per customer request I need to completely bypass the proxy server.  The ISP has enabled FE0/1 on the Cisco router and addressed it.  The WAP connects to the PowerConnect 3324.  I have tagged, trunked and assigned the G1 port to the new VLAN.  I have also tagged, trunked and assigned the G1 port on the 3424.  Because I have to bypass the proxy I also end up bypassing the DHCP server.  So I bought a retail layer 3 router to DHCP and NAT.  I have tagged and trunked the switch port on the 3424 where this router connects.  When I connect my laptop directly to the router I get an IP address and internet access, just like I should.  When I try to connect through the WAP I don't get an address.  Even when I enter it statically I don't get access.  I have gone as far as connecting my laptop directly to the WAP port on the 3324.  I still can't get through the VLAN.  I have tried putting the WAP port of the 3324 in access, general and trunk mode.  I still can't get through.  Wirelessly I can connect to the SSID I created(it assigns the generic IP).  Also connecting directly to the router I get an address.  It seems that I just can't get through the switches on the VLAN.  I spent two hours on the phone with Powerconnect tech support to no avail.
 
Help would be greatly apprecited.

The link between the two switches should be in trunk mode with VLAN 1 untagged with the PVID set to 1 while VLAN 2 is tagged.  That is it should look like for both g1 ports.  As for everything else, the ports just need to be in access and the PVID set to the respective VLAN ID.  First, can you get VLAN 1 traffic to cross the g1 links?  Will VLAN 2 traffic cross the link?  Also, your FE0/1 connection on the Cisco should be going to the layer-3 router then connected to the switch.  That port should be in access mode with the PVID set to 2.  The port the WAP is on should be configured the same.
