VLAN How-To?

I work with a company that provides high speed internet in the hotel/condo environment.  We have issues whenever someone plugs in a wireless router with dhcp server enabled.  I would like to vlan the switch to make it where no room can talk to another room but all rooms can talk to the server.  I have done this with a 3com switch but the limited vlans supported made me switch to a dell.  I haven't had any luck trying to configure the dell switch for the same scenario.  Thanks!

Oops.  I am using Dell 3348 switches.  Each room is on a seperate port.  Server is plugged into G1 and second switch is connected from switch1 G2 to switch2 G1.  thanks

gstech,

Have you taken a look at the Application Note on VLANS:

http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/pwcnt/en/app_note_8.pdf

(warning PDF file)?  It gives a pretty good overview of VLAN configuration and should help you get started.

Actually when I started looking at the 5212 manual I had a much easier time.  That and another post on the forum and I had the answers I needed.  Thanks
