The term "trunking" can be used for either Link Aggregation or VLANs.

If you are referring to VLAN trunking (the ability to pass traffic for multiple VLANs across a single link), all managed PowerConnect switches support this feature as defined by IEEE 802.1Q. On a Cisco switch, this is usually specified as dot1q trunking.

If you are referring to Link Aggregation, all managed PowerConnect switches support static and dynamic Link Aggregation as defined by the IEEE 802.3ad and LACP standards.

All PowerConnect switches follow the IEEE standards. Link Aggregation (IEEE 802.3ad) should work fine with Cisco's EtherChannel in either the "on" (static) or "active" (dynamic via LACP) modes. They will not participate in any other modes (auto, desirable, passive, etc.).

I have seen some compatibility issues using LACP between PowerConnect switches and some Cisco switches running CatOS (6509). For this reason, we usually recommend using static Link Aggregation.

I have connected PowerConnect 5224 from DELL with Cisco WS-C3550-12T Layer 3 Router with 2 cables,
to get double bandwidth using Cisco's EtherChannel and 802.1Q trunk.

But if I look PowerConnect Trunk Settings on browser, then both LACP trunk and static trunk are enabled on the same ports.
Is it everything correct ?
How can I check if trunking is working properly ?

It should not be possible to have a port configured with both static link aggregation and LACP. When a port is configured for LACP, you cannot add it to a static Link Aggregation Group. When the port is configured for static, then LACP is selected, the static setting will disappear.

The Cisco shows that the port-channel is up and displays members. This would indicate that the link aggregation is working.

I don't really know what's wrong in my case ?
If I put only L via browser on these ports, connected to the CISCO Router,
then DELL shows automatically : L and 1

I can choose under Administrative Mode (Operating Mode) following options:
Static Access
Dynamic Access
Trunk Desirable
ISL Trunk
ISL Trunk - Nonnegotiate
802.1Q Trunk
802.1Q Trunk - Nonnegotiate

At the moment I have as Operating Mode on the both ports connected to the DELL SWITCH 802.1Q Trunk enabled and active.
Should I disable 802.1Q trunk on the CISCO ROUTER ?
