Apple Bits

Well, I have a Dell Inspiron 300m with a wireless card installed.  I can connect to my router at home and a number of other places.  No networking problems.  However, when I roam I often pick up Apple wireless networks that I can't connect to: my system identifies the SSID as "Anvil" and no amount of fiddling at my end (including "Detect network settings...") is effective.  Any suggestions on how to connect?

I'll take a  stab at this, but I think it depends on what version of the Apple OS is running.  The latest, X (Panther) uses standard the TCP/IP protocol, but prior versions are probably using Apple Talk to network and you would need to install that protocol for a Windows box to network.

Thanks Jim.  Where would I download the AppleTalk protocol from?  A web search didn't come up with much...
