I recently recieved a Dell Inspirion 9200 with a free Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 Internal Wireless (801.11 b/g, 54mps) card a Linksys Etherfast Cable / DSL Router (Model: BEFSR41) an a Linksys Wireless-G Access Point (Model: WAP54G) for the holidays. Since you know the specs, here is my questions:
1. Is the access fully 802.11g/b compatible?
2. Is the router compatible with the access point?
3. How did a brand new router not work? (Confirmed by Linksys)
4. Why does the access point software refuse to install? (Says network card error)
5. Why does the Intel control center say there is no network card installed?
If those questions can be awnsered, it would be greatly appreciated.
1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Not unknown, it does happen... 4 & 5. Look at the mini-PCI clot and verify there is a card there - if not call Dell - if so, remove it and fully reinsert it into the slot.
Yet, I did what the documentation said to do, no luck. My 21 day satisfaction is out on it too, can I return the Wireless Card/Wireless Access point back to Dell, on just my 3 year warranty?
Pushing the two metal clips away from the board wouldn't allow the board to pop up and be removed? If not, it is probably in crooked (jambed) and that also explains why it doesn't work. If that is true, I would use Dell Chat and relate what you are experiencing. Dell Chat is so much more useful than callling on the phone to India.
