Hi,

I have encountered the same problem.
Some observations:

  • The hardware seems to work fine. The blue light below the screen is on.
  • There appears an unknown USB Device.
  • So I uninstalled the Bluetooth software and this USB device. After a reboot, I installed the Software and everything was fine.
UNTIL I rebooted once again and got the same problem.
  • I even reinstalled the whole WinXP without success to this problem.

Does anyone know how to solve the problem? Any hints?

Thank you
Thomas

I called them too (even twice) ... install this driver, install that patch, have you checked the BIOS ... but the Bluetooth doesn't work.

It seems that no one from DELL reads the FORUM or is able to solve the driver problems. So I will have to do the same as Urvin and send my Laptop back to DELL.

Bye Thomas

haha Thomas I've had to call them 3 times before they believed me that there is no solution for this problem yet, other then change the laptop. the first guy even told me to install de latest bios driver even when I said that I already have the latest driver. the third guy was very helpfull. So I just wait for my new laptop and hope for the best.

Good luck ;)

I have the same problem, only for me in the BIOS BlueTooth is marked installed.

When I use the Fn+F2 to close the blue light under the screen, the Unknown USB device goes away. when I light it back on it comes back and I got a message in the tray : USb Device not recognized ......

I hate to wait for a new Laptop ....

I get exactly the same as you.

Also, I can't find any documentation about how to use the bluetooth connection.
