Bluetooth version upgrade
Salut!
I have a Bluetooth issue with a still working fine Dell XPS M1330. I have made a great many repairs and upgrades on that laptop over the years, and they always worked out for me. It is now running Windows 10 Pro x64 decently. Still very happy with it, does all I need it to do. The size is mostly why I appreciate it.
One of the upgrades I made is a Mini PCIe WLAN (replacement) card, MPE-AX1800H. It is a WiFi Bluetooth combo PCIe card.
A while back , I dismantled the laptop to make some repairs and damaged, broke off, one of the pins of the tiny Bluetooth module connector, Dell TrueMobile 355 Bluetooth (v2.0) Module OCW725, located separately under the power button strip above the keyboard. No longer shows on the Windows 10 Device Manager.
The PCIE card I put in, as an WLAN upgrade has Bluetooth (v5.2), got the WiFi part working great. The Bluetooth part of the same card, not so much, it does not appear in the Device Manager list.
Tried numerous drivers and install applications for both the WiFi and the Bluetooth. No luck on the Bluetooth.
One of the Fenvi drivers works wonderfully for the WiFi but not the Bluetooth. Sure I could put in a USB Bleutooth 5.2 USB adapter, but I'd like to be able to keep the USB ports clear for other USB devices (has a PCMCIA card with 2 additional USB 3.0 ports).
Anyone with a similar issue? Could be I have to search some more for a pair of drivers or install applications to get it to show in the Windows 10 Device Manager list???
Long story but all the same, appreciation to anyone who has a clue or an idea.
Thank you!
