Hi Elliot Labs,

I would recommend you to install the above drivers. Follow below steps while installing the drivers:

Step 1:  First download your Bluetooth driver and extract it.

Step 2: Now go to C:\dell\drivers and find your Bluetooth folder [In dell Inspiron 15r C:\dell\drivers\24T1W\Network application].

Step 3: Now open Win32 (for 32-bit) or Win64 (for 64-bit) and find BtwMM.exe and install it.

Step 4: After installed BtwMM.exe, now find Inst.exe and install it.

Awaiting your response!

I have tried the latest windows 8 driver but it wouldn't work because i am running Windows server 2012 x64.

It installed fine but when i restarted the computer bluetooth wouldn't start because a CPL was missing.

Hi Elliot Labs,

I recommend running SFC scanner on the computer:

Follow below steps to run SFC scanner:

  • Open the start menu
  • In the search box, type cmd
  • Right click on cmd and select Run as administrator.
  • In command prompt  type: sfc /scannow

I am running Windows Server 2012 Standard.

I have tried running the drivers but they wouldn't work and also the System File Checker (SFC) didn't find anything.

I also tried running Broadcom's update utility but it said unsupported operating system.

Hi Elliot Labs,

Since Broadcom driver’s utility says that this hardware is incompatible with windows server 2012. To use this you will have to switch to the operating system shipped with the computer.
