C640

Will the Dell 1450 wireless card work in a LAtitude C640, even though it states it is for Dseries latitiudes?
Dell part# 430-0962.  I think they are discontinuing this line, will the 1470 also work.

It works fine. I tested it recently.

Richard, what version of the driver are you running?  What's the date on it?  Having issues with my 1350 in my D610 and I'm hoping it isn't the mobo again...

Hi,

I'm using the following driver:

Release Title:Network: Dell _Wireless (US) WLAN Network Adapter Card, TrueMobile 1300 b/g PCMCIA, TrueMobile 1300 Internal b/g MPCI, TrueMobile 1400 Internal Dual-band WLAN Card , Wireless 1350(b/g)WLAN miniPCI Card, Wireless 1370 (b/g)WLAN MiniPCI Card, Wireless 1450 (a/b/g) Dual-Band WLAN miniPCI Card, Wireless 1470 (a/b/g) Dual-Band WLAN miniPCI card, Wireless™ 1350 WLAN (b/g) PC Card, Driver, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Multi Language, Multi System, v.3.120.27 / 3.120.28, A07Release

Date:06/30/2005

Download this driver only if you reside in the United States. This release supports the Dell Wireless 1350, 1370, 1390, 1450, 1470, 1490 and Dell TrueMobile 1300, 1400 series MiniPCI and PC Card devices (not USB).

which I downloaded from the Inspiron 5160 (the card comes from this system) downloads:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R102320&SystemID=INS_PNT_P4_5160&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=6483&devlib=0&typecnt=1&vercnt=11&formatcnt=1&fileid=132284

I'm pretty much sure that it works for both 1350 and 1450 models.

Regards,

Rick
