Cannot connect to Internet

Question

I have a Dell Dimension 4600 running Windows XP. All of a sudden I can no longer connect to internet. My network connections show no errors or cable unplugged. I have tried different cables. I am using a cable modem and wired Linksys router. All other PCs and laptops connected to the router can access the internet. I tried connecting my PC directly to the cable modem without going thru the router and I still cannot connect to the internet. Have tried resetting winsock but that didn't help. Thought my NIC card might be bad but I can't find any indication of that. I do get an IP address when I run ipconfig so there must be some kind of connection there? ipconfig/all shows Dhcp is enabled. What else can I check? This is so frustrating!!!!!!

try to unplug the power cords on the modem and router in the back not the wall plug for a minute. then plug it back in the modem for 30 sec then the router.

Forgot to mention that I have already tried unplugging the modem & router and then resetting. Doesn't help. Even if I'm directly connected to the modem without the router I still can't get on the internet.
