D600 'Network Controller'
How or where do I download a 'Network Controller' driver from? I have a Latitude D600 portable. After formatting it and loading WinXP, I join our company domain. I can surf the 'Net and our network fine after joining our domain. But before AND after I joined our domain, I've checked the Device Manager and FIVE devices have alerts. They're located in 'Device Manager > Other Devices'. That list of devices are 1) Multimedia Audio Controller 2) Network Controller 3) O2Micro SmartCardBus_Reader 4) PCI Modem 5) Video Controller (VGA Compatible). My current Network Adapter, Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller, is 'working properly'.
The issue arises when I receive a display prompt saying OS has 'found new hardware'...the 'Network Controller' when I initially login to the laptop. This occurs in the base D600 and obviously in addition to the other D600 portables I've imaged/cloned using a networked user accounts. I cancel out of that installer prompt but can still browse the 'Net and our company network.
I have my trusty 'Drivers and Utilities' Latitude D600 System Resource CD but the drivers to the aforementioned FIVE devices are not on that CD. Using the portable's Service Tag, I've surfed Dell's support sight for those device drivers to no avail. In the list of FIVE above, I really wanna get rid of the 'Network Controller' message. Any advice? Thanks in advance for you assistance!

If your on-board NIC is working OK then the other "Network Controller" is most likely a wiress adapter and that could come in several different flavors. The best bet is to check and see what the laptop(s) were originally purchased with as far as hardware.
For the other devices check the following:
Audio -
O2Micro -
Modem - http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/type.aspx?c=us&cs=555&l=en&s=biz&SystemID=LAT_PNT_PM_D600&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=2757
Video - http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=555&l=en&s=biz&releaseid=R98704&SystemID=LAT_PNT_PM_D600&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=3083&devlib=0&typecnt=1&vercnt=6&formatcnt=1&fileid=128449
You should be able to backtrack from any of these links to the main downloads page for the D600 and it will list all the Network Drivers.

By 'Chip Set', do you mean 'flashing the BIOS'?
