D810: cannot activate internal nic

Hi all,

I have some problems with activating the internal nic when working undocked. When in the port replicator the internal nic works fine.
Without the port replicator I was unable to activate the nic since I got the notebook. I already tried the two settings in the control panel: deactivate the nic if on battery or always on, but this seems not to work. When I try to activate the nic using the hardware manager, windows says that it was unable to activate the device.

BTW: the led on the port is always green when connected to a switch.

Thanks for any advice.
Adrian.

I have the same thing on the 410 and 610.  If I press Undock and remove from the replicator and move to a conference room, enter a enternet cable in the back NIC port. No connectivity withour a reboot.

On  the 410 I have listed adapters in the Device manager.

But on the 610 The Broadcomm 57xx will not work if moved from docked to undocked state.

If I reboot, with the laptop in the port replicator or undocked without the ethernet cable connected, I get no broadcom adapter in Device manager.  I have just discovered today so still looking for thoughts like you.

Broadcomm webste might have some thoughts.

Yes, NIC all all listed as enabled for all profiles. This is still a head scratcher?

Look in the Hardware Tab in the Systems Applet (Control Panel).

Ok I understand what you are saying but I do not see such a setting in the BIOS, Network Properties of the NIC or in the Control Panel cpl for the NIC, not Device Settings.  Can you give me a hint as to where it might be?

I realize that but what is the setting for when you change the machine from docked to undocked without rebooting?  There is a setting in there that will disable an onboard NIC going from docked to undocked.
